Q. How does the Reelfix system work?
Q. How does the Reelfix system work?A) Reelfix is a tying wire dispensing reel that is worn on a belt around the waist. While tying rebar, the user will draw the wire from the reel as required for each tie.Q. How much does the reel and belt set cost?A) Reel and belt sets are provided FREE OF CHARGE to suit project requirements. One set is provided for every Steel Fixer on site.Q. How is the tying wire supplied?A) Tying wire is supplied in the form of a 2kg refill spool. The spool is loaded into the reel and held in place by a quarter turn locking screw. Changing the spool takes less than 20 seconds.Q. What types of tying wire are available?A) Reelfix supply both Black Annealed and Stainless 304. Stainless 316, epoxy coated, galvanized etc are also available on advanced orders.Q. How long will the refill last?A) A 2kg Black Annealed (17gauge) refill contains 140 Metres of wire. This equates to around 700 - 900 normal ties per spool and on average will last the user around 8 hours. A 2kg Stainless (18gauge) refill contains approximately 220 Metres of wire. That’s around 1100 ties and will last considerably longer.Q. How does the cost compare to loose wire?A) As you would expect, Reelfix is INITIALLY more expesive than loose wire. Savings are gained through the added value Reelfix offers such as the huge reduction in waste. Kilo for Kilo, Reelfix will tie twice as much rebar than loose wire. Then there's cleaning of slab pours prior to concrete. Done in half the time when the fixers have used Reelfix. And with guaranteed top quality wire and a happier and more productive workforce Reelfix wins hands down over loose wire on "actual" cost and savings.Q. How will using Reelfix improve productivity?A) Having a constant supply of wire at your fingertips, two hands free to place rebar and freedom of movement have proved to significantly increase efficiency. Steel Fixers using the Reelfix system will fix up to 25% more rebar than those using loose tying wire.Q. How will using Reelfix reduce waste?A) Waste using large loose coils can be as much as 70%. In fact, quite often full coils can be found in site skips because they’ve been left out over night and become rusty or have been left behind by Steel Fixers who have moved on to another part of the site. Reelfix wire is used 100% to tie rebar. Unnecessary waste using Reelfix is zero.Q. Can using Reelfix really eliminate wire trip hazards?A) Reelfix wire remains neat and tidy inside the reel and is drawn as required. There are no unused lengths of wire left scattered around site and therefore, no wire trip hazards. Totally eliminated.Q. Can using Reelfix save costs in areas other than Steel Fixing and waste?A) Yes. Cleaning slab pours for example. Where loose wire has been used, this task involves an operative reaching down through the rebar to drag lengths of unused tying wire out before concrete can be poured. Where Reelfix has been used, only tiny off-cuts of wire are left. These are easily and quickly blown out. Site trials have found that pre-pour cleaning takes half the time when the Steel Fixers have used Reelfix.Q. How does Reelfix wire compare on quality?A) Reelfix tying wire is well known amongst Steel Fixers as the best quality tying wire on the market. Our Black Annealed wire has Phosphate coating that ensures it reaches the end user rust free and clean and the modern annealing process ensures the wire is soft and easy on the fingers and forearms. Stainless 304 is top quality and extra soft for easy tie application.
