Steel Fixing is a hard trade. Manual handling of rebar, walking on fixed rebar grids and a lot of bending over. It’s fair to say that Steel Fixers are a hardy bunch. This however doesn't mean that their job can’t be made easier.

Lower back pain affects Steel Fixers more than any other trade. Carrying bundles of rebar and bending over to tie slab steel are part and parcel of the trade, but bending to pick up tying wire, an action repeated every couple of minutes throughout the working day, can be avoided.

Reelfix reels are worn comfortably, on a belt around the users’ waist. Each 2kg refill contains enough wire to last the average Fixer around 8 hours. That’s nearly a full day’s supply of wire at his or her fingertips, no bending required. Risk reduced!
